Carson City Symphony was founded in 1984 as the Carson City Chamber Orchestra and gave its first concert in October that year. It is a community orchestra open to amateur and volunteer professional musicians. Members come from all walks of life and have ranged from elementary school students to senior citizens. The Symphony performs five or more concerts each year for audiences in Carson City. It also has performed in Minden, Gardnerville, Fallon, South Lake Tahoe, and Virginia City. We play many works by contemporary composers and have commissioned and premiered several pieces.

In a typical year, most Carson City Symphony rehearsals are on Wednesday nights, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., at the Carson High School, 1111 N. Saliman St., Carson City.

Here are my plans for Symphony performances and rehearsals, as of 12/23/2021. All rehearsals are Wednesday nights, except as noted. - David B.
1. Feb. 27 concert - rehearsals 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 2/26 (Sat.)
2. April 24 concert - rehearsals 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, 4/6, 4/13 (at Senior Center), 4/20, 4/23 (Sat.)
3. June 12 concert - rehearsals 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/26, 6/1, 6/8, 6/11 (Sat.)
4. July 4 concert in Genoa - rehearsals 6/15, 6/22, 6/29, 7/2 (Sat.)

As you are heading east from Carson City on Route 50, towards Dayton, you will cross under the V&T Railroad bridge. Take the second left (Red Rock Road) and stay straight until you come to a chain link fence containing the building with the tall tower. That is your destination. The building has a 150-foot tower on the side. Go in through the first opening in the fence.
